Oak Hardwood Flooring |
|
Oak hardwood flooring is the most common used wood in homes today. You can get oak hardwood flooring in either red oak or white oak. The red oak has more of a red tint compared to the white oak. Both the white and red oak flooring is reasonable priced compared to the more exotic woods which can be a lot more expense depending on the type and the quality. The red and white oak hardwood flooring comes in prefinished which has the stain and polyurethane put on in the factory, and just needs to be installed in your home. Both red and white oak also come in unfinished wood, which needs to be installed into your home. We then sand the entire floor smooth then put a choice of stain and then we usually apply three coats of either oil or water based polyurethane.

Unfinished oak flooring is a great way to add true value to your home. It does not have any bevels on the boards like most prefinished flooring so some customers like it better because it is easier to clean without the bevels on the boards. Unfinished oak can also be stained to whatever desired color the customer is looking for. The process to installing unfinished hardwood floors is a little more involved than the prefinished flooring, but the unfinished flooring does have its advantages. For one unfinished flooring is sanded to make it more level of a floor if your underlayment floor is a little bit unlevel. It all depends on the customers preference to weather they go with a prefinished floor or an unfinished floor. |
